Bridal season is upon us and one thing brides have in common is they want to look fantastic in their dresses! Here are a few tips to make the best of your wedding-prep:
1) Allow yourself enough time to get the results you want. It will take at least 12 weeks of hard work to make visible changes to your body if you have about 20lbs to lose. More often than not, brides get caught up in planning and forget until 6 weeks before the wedding to get in shape. Be proactive so you will see results and you won't feel stressed at the last minute!
2) Work your whole body and work it hard! Muscle is what gives us feminine shape and definition. Don't be afraid of lifting heavier weights. We do not have enough testosterone in our bodies to "get bulky" without chemical assistance. You will only feel "bulky" if you don't lose the fat layer over the muscle - so make sure you have a good fat loss plan in place as well!
3) Don't do anything drastic. If you deprive yourself of too much food, you will most likely end up binging under the stress and set yourself back. If you go on an exercise extravaganza without first building a balanced muscle foundation, you may end up hurting yourself. Slow and steady wins the race!
Lastly, enjoy your special day and make sure you have a plan that will give you lasting results. After all, you still have to wear that bathing suit on your honeymoon!
