    Welcome to 2012! New year, new goals, new you! Bear in mind that the longer you let the extra weight from the holidays sit on your body, the more difficult it will be to get it off - so get moving now! Here are some ideas on how to get started and stay on track in the new year:

    1) Make a realistic goal. Perhaps you really need to lose 50lbs. That can be an overwhelming task to stare down every day. Break it up into small goals. If you have an event coming up in February, for instance, make it a goal to fit into a pair of pants that has been sitting in your closet. If you don't have an event coming up, make one!

    2) Plan, plan, plan! The bottom line is you will not be successful without a plan. You will need a plan for exercise and for eating habits. Make an appointment with a certified personal trainer to get started!

    3) Be accountable to someone. Whether it's a personal trainer, weight loss meetings, or your workout buddy, you will need someone to fall back on when you feel like you're falling off track!
